The Backyard Beekeeping course will give you the background you need to establish and manage beehives of your own. The course is open to people of all experience levels, integrates hands-on learning with classroom discussion, and focuses on using ecologically sound practices to raise healthy hives. Topics of the course include:
Honeybee biology
History of honey-hunters & beekeepers
Beekeeping equipment
Beekeeping through the seasons
Management for honey production
Harvesting honey, wax & other hive products
Diseases & enemies of the honey bee
